Patient Experience Learning Collaborative

In December 2024, HSCRC convened the Patient Experience Learning Collaborative in partnership with the Maryland Hospital Association to identify and advance strategies to improve patient experience across Maryland hospitals. The Collaborative aimed to:

  • Evaluate barriers to improving patient experience performance in Maryland
  • Identify and promote evidence-based best practices
  • Support hospitals in building sustainable infrastructure for improvement
  • Foster shared learning across hospitals and health systems
The Collaborative met monthly from December 2024 to December 2025.  The Collaborative was co-chaired by Dr. Giora Netzer, Vice President at Chief Experience Officer for the University of Maryland Medical System and Jonathan Sachs, Patient Experience Consultant for the HSCRC. The Collaborative’s membership included patient experience leaders from hospitals across the state of Maryland, Maryland’s health care regulatory bodies, MHA leadership, and representatives from national survey vendors. The 2025 Final Report and Summary Infographic are provided in the Resources section below.

The Collaborative recommended quarterly meetings to continue sharing best practices and serve as a forum for ongoing engagement, data-driven decision-making, and shared accountability in improving patient experience across Maryland. Please contact [email protected] for additional information on future meetings.
