The Maryland Health Services Cost Review Commission (HSCRC) is convening a workgroup in July to gather input on updates to the financial assistance and medical debt regulations, primarily based on the following bills:

- Current Regulations Published in COMAR
- Latest Regulations Version - Developed through previous stakeholder workgroups and public comment periods, this version was approved by the HSCRC Commissioners and submitted to AELR in September 2023. HSCRC staff will not be revisiting the sections of the regulations that were discussed and updated prior to this version (see the “Commentary on Public Comments on Financial Assistance and Medical Debt Regulations” section at the link).
- Current Regulations Draft - This version is the first draft that will serve as the basis for the first workgroup meeting on July 1, 2025 and a public comment period ending June 26, 2025. Any written comments can be sent to hannah.friedman-bell1@maryland.gov.
